The Sixth Seal is the first place in the book of Revelation where seven stories begin to overlap. Our Western/European traditions teach us that the book of Revelation is essentially a sequential book that begins with chapter 1 and ends at chapter 22. But the Bible is actually written from a Hebrew perspective and when we really study, we find it is full of repetition telling the same stories over and over again. We see it in the beginning of Genesis chapters 1 and 2 and it continues through the Four Gospels all the way through the book of Revelations. We should not be reading the book of Revelation as a one linear story, but as a collection of stories read in parallel.
As we have discussed previously our ancestor’s created a “Tradition of Men” when they disobeyed the commandments of Daniel 12:4 that the book sealed and Revelation 22:18, 19 not to add anything to the book of Revelation when they took one verse from Daniel and added it to the book of Revelation. Instead of creating new understanding they created confusion that we have been fighting over for decades, but when we obey those commandments it becomes very easy to see the seven stories of the book of Revelation. And once we understand that then we can see that four of those stories tell the same story just from different perspectives. When we do that all the conflicts, all the confusion and all the mystery of the book of Revelation disappears. In our study of Seal Six we find the first place where common elements between the stories occurs and the first time this happens is with the marking of the 144,000.
Seal Six Event Sequence # 13-21
Revelation 6:12-7:17 Story 2
Revelation 13:1-18 Story 3
Revelation 14:1-16 Story 4
Revelation 18:1-19:10 Story 5
The process of linking the stories together uses the first verse of the first story to mention the event that has a related event in another story. You can read how this is done by clicking on the “Revelation Cross Reference Chart” on the book tab of this website, under “Reference Material” and reading the second page “How to read the chart.” When reading verses related to a link always combine those into one event.
144,000 Jews Saved and Sealed
This is the first set of scriptures, which show the links between the stories of the book of Revelation. Using these scriptures together, we can identify this event in detail.
If the appearance of the Lamb of God in the previous event is the manifestation of the sons of God, it results in bringing the revelation to the Jews that Jesus is indeed their Messiah. The four winds (7:1) are the spiritual storms representing the wrath of God, which are about to cover the whole earth. The number four symbolizes the four corners of the earth as well as the four seasons and the coming harvest of the earth. It is during this time that there is going to be a magnificent outpouring of the Spirit of God, which will bring these 144,000 into the Kingdom of God.
The east is the rising of the sun (7:2). This angel represents the outpouring of the Spirit of God in new life coming upon the Jews who have realized that Jesus is their Messiah and have put their faith in him. They receive the seal (7:3, 14:1) of God on their foreheads to protect them during plagues of the coming tribulation. It also represents new understanding and revelation about their true Messiah.
Even though it says that 144,000 were sealed (7:4), this does not mean that there will be literally 144,000 Jews sealed. Rather it more implies the completeness of the number sealed as mentioned in Romans 11:25-27 where is says that all Israel will be saved after the fullness of the Gentiles come in. Those who will be sealed are all those who have been chosen of the Jews, the ultimate end time assembly of Jews who will walk in the fullness of faith as no one has ever seen before. They will fulfill their mission for God and then enter the Millennial Kingdom as the priests to God and unto the nations. This is the restoration for the Jews back into the position of their calling. These 144,000 are the first fruits (14:4) unto God as they were marked before the Rapture of the church. They are set aside and protected to promote the Gospel during the Tribulation, not taken out of it. If these 144,000 are to be taken out in the Rapture why is the seal given to protect them from the plagues of the judgments? The events of this Seal also signals the end of the “Times of the Gentiles” and that the 70th week of Daniel, the last seven years is now active. Both of these events overlap each other as the end of the “Times of the Gentiles” and the end of the 70th week both come to a close with the return of Jesus. This is not the beginning of the Tribulation period, as that does not begin until the First Judgment when the First Trumpet is blown. But these events are happening in the time of the lasts seven years. The Tribulation will begin shortly, but the events here must be fulfilled before that time.
In Rev. 14:2-5, this is the celebration of their redemption by their God not the rapture of the 144,000 or the church.
These 144,000 will go where the Lord leads them proclaiming the salvation and gospel of Jesus Christ. Protected from the judgments and wrath of God during the Tribulation they will display the fullness of their Messiah on the earth.

Reading the book will give deeper understanding and answer more questions than these blog posts ever will.
