I really wish the Lord had spoken this to me before the Festival of Tabernacles (Sukkot) had occurred, but he called me into reviewing the teaching "The Final Restoration" and while making a number of minor edits to improve reading, etc. he dropped the following into my heart, which I placed toward the end of the teaching, giving us a simple way to celebrate the birth of our Lord during his time of celebration.
Here’s a few suggestions for those who desire to follow after God’s ways, which is easy and just a beginning step to restoring a celebration of Festivals of the Lord for the Christians. Instead of celebrating Christmas in December like the world does, celebrate the birth of Christ in September during the Festival of Tabernacles and instead of a Christmas tree, which comes from pagan celebrations, setup a manger scene in your home and have your family set their gifts around that. It would encourage children to ask about Jesus' birth instead of Santa Claus. Gifts can be given out each day or on the last day of the celebration. Instead of Christmas parties, have Tabernacle Celebrations with friends to celebrate the birth of the Messiah. The world will think you are weird, the Jews will be jealous and God will be blessing you for turning your back on the ways of the world.
So, now you've got a game plan for next year. Get your whole church involved. It will transform your life and the season.
Live in God's Peace!
