Updated: This was an interesting day.
Two Elijah Lists so close together that the Lord used to speak to me is unusual. I've had it happen in the past with just one, but not two in a row. Rather than post the entire article -click here- to read it on the Elijah List website. While you're there take the time to subscribe to the Elijah List and their companion Breaking Christian News by using the links at the top of their page.
During the worship service at church today a word was given that said the Lord was raising up new voices. Many would wonder where they came from and that they came out of nowhere, but the Lord said He had prepared them for many years in the wilderness for this day and hour.
It's the glory of God working.
Live in God's Peace.
The following word from Paul Keith and Wanda Davis is reprinted with permission from Elijah List (click here). The entire article is very timely, but I want you to pay special attention to the last section: Truth Exposes Deception. I found it very applicable to the word that the Lord gave last Saturday posted on January 21, 2012. It is always uncomfortable when the light of God's truth exposes something that is not right in our beliefs, but when we investigate and submit to the revelation found in God's word we are released to a higher level of God's peace and understanding.

A Powerful Release of the Spirit of Truth is Coming
_The friend of God! Such a distinction is clearly considered one of man's greatest honors. Even so, that opportunity is granted to those who abide in Christ and His Word abides in them. The time has now arrived for the friends of Christ to begin to restore what has been stolen from the Church. This will involve many areas of recovery involving our lost heritages. Return to the stronghold, O prisoners who have the hope; this very day I am declaring that I will restore double to you. For I will bend Judah as My bow, I will fill the bow with Ephraim. And I will stir up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece; and I will make you like a warrior's sword. Zechariah 9:12-13
The Lord is even going to begin to restore past relationships that our enemy has destroyed, delayed or neutralized. Relationships destroyed by rumors, gossip, and internal wounding will be supernaturally mended by the Lord during this season of the Spirit. I have experienced this myself in recent months as the Lord has wonderfully restored friendships with many that I love very much.
The Restorer of the breach will recondition us with the Spirit of Truth and a new wall of protection will be constructed to surround the true Church. Plumb-line revelation of God's Word is about to be established with clarity and power. It is around that Message of Truth that many will rally with divine alliances and unity that transcends present understanding.
The Lord is the Restorer of the Breach and the Repairer of the Broken Walls... He is the Restorer of Former Streets and Dwellings and the One who unstops old wells.
The prophet Daniel recognized this generation and described it as the "time of the end," in which knowledge will increase and great mysteries of the Kingdom will be revealed. Many Believers are entreating the Lord to show great and mighty (hidden and set apart) things we presently do not know. The prophet Jeremiah was given the following promise when he spoke on behalf of the Lord:
"Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3).
If we are instructed to earnestly call upon the Lord, then its clear implication is that we will be endowed with the ability to hear from Him with precision and clarity! In this way, we will understand the articulation of prominent and awesome things that we presently do not know. It will be the unveiling of divine truth and the blueprint of Heaven for our time.
Our Source of Truth
In our quest to understand truth, we can turn to only one source as our absolute standard by which all truth is weighed – the Word of God. The revealed truth – gleaned from the merger of the Word and the Spirit – provides all that we need in this life and the one to come. Through redemption, the covenant promises and blessings are made available to us, as well as the unveiling of the nature and character of God.
The Scriptures and the spiritual impartation they convey are the only pattern by which we may know with certainty the events and directions of the future. They are the only source that satisfactorily answers the questions: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I going?
As someoneonce said: "Time can take nothing from the Bible. It is the living monitor. Like the sun, it is the same in its life and influence to humanity this day as it was years ago. It can meet every present inquiry and console every present loss."
Resident within the heart of spirit-filled Believers should inherently be a great love for the Scriptures and for the truth they convey. It is the sword that separates spirit from soul – light from darkness. Although we are eternally grateful for the understanding we now have, deep wells of spiritual insight, mysteries, and truth remain to be discovered.
Vast Oceans of Truth
Perhaps many today can understand Sir Isaac Newton's perceptions when he wrote:
"I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."
An ocean of divine truth exists before us to be discovered by those anointed with the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. Ephesians 1:17-18 emphasizes the right of every Believer to be anointed with the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. This wisdom is not merely the ability to mentally analyze a situation and make a good response. Rather, it is a spiritual endowment that allows a Believer to explore deep into the heart of the Father, to perceive and understand the mysteries of the Kingdom and one's rights purchased through Christ's redemption.
Not only do we have the liberty to understand vast spiritual mysteries, but also the accompanying Spirit of Revelation to give illumination and comprehension of their reality. By them we may know:
1. What is the hope of His calling...
2. What are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints...
3. What is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe... Ephesians 1:18-19
But there must be an anointing resting upon our spiritual eyes that we may see and our ears that we may hear – anointed eyes and ears. Presently we have a very limited understanding of the rich deposit of truth inherent in the Scriptures. Part of our mandate during this time in history is to unfold and demonstrate great redemptive truths as part of the hidden manna set apart and reserved for the end-time generation. Those with spiritual comprehension will have great insight and shine brilliantly in this dark age.
Spiritual Thoughts and Spiritual Words
Through the Church, the Holy Spirit is beginning to unveil the mysteries of the Kingdom by articulating and giving expression to spiritual thoughts with spiritual words (1 Corinthians 2:13). It will be Kingdom truth not taught by human wisdom, but the Holy Spirit granting the proper interpretation of spiritual truth through spiritual language. If we choose a receptive posture in this process, we will begin to understand His ways and apprehend His thoughts. The Lord is promising to reveal His thoughts and ways, which are much higher than ours, if we will only follow His prescription for a "higher way" of holiness.
Words, when anointed, become a spiritual vehicle that transports us from one realm to another; or, put another way, the natural word becomes spiritual through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. In John 6:63, Jesus stated the words He spoke to them were both Spirit and life:
"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life."
Through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, words attain a spiritual life of their own. The Spirit gives life to the message of the Kingdom which points to the Cross and transports one from the natural into the Spirit realm. At that crossroad, we discover the hope of our calling and the immeasurable greatness of His unlimited power toward those who believe.
Jesus Himself was actually representative of the "anointed Word." He was the Word of God incarnate and He is the Messiah, which translated means the Anointed One. His anointing is the fuel that propels the vehicle. Without the anointing, the vehicle cannot operate. The letter kills but the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:6).
For the ministered word to become spiritual food, it must proceed from the Lord's Presence through an anointed ministry in an atmosphere of the anointing. As His anointed word is quickened within us and we receive from it an impartation of Spirit and life, we are then growing into His full stature.
Truth Springing Forth From the Earth
Acquiring knowledge about the Bible is a noble pursuit. However, it cannot be a substitute for knowing Jesus intimately as the Living Word. He is Living Truth. A "word" is a "thought" that has been given expression. Inherent in God are His attributes and thoughts. God gave articulation to His thoughts and virtues through the Word (logos). The "Word" then became flesh and dwelt among us so we could behold His glory and comprehend the perceptions and qualities of God. Truth sprang forth from the very heart of God in Word form, imparting Spirit and life that is tangible, spiritual substance.
Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land. Lovingkindness and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth springs from the earth; and righteousness looks down from heaven. Psalm 85:9-11
The Holy Spirit's spotlight will be on Kingdom truths expressed in the above passage. The salvation here promised is not restricted to eternal life in our heavenly home, but includes deliverance of all kinds – rescue from trouble, distress, and calamity in this generation.
All who truly reverence Him and possess the fear of God rather than the fear of man may expect His impressive support and aid! God desires that the people called by His name possess the confident assurance that He will intervene in their troubles and deliver them.
It is the heart cry of all God's children to see His glory abiding in the land. As the prophet David once wrote: "For Thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes, and I have walked in Thy truth" (Psalm 26:3). As we discover the fullness of the Spirit of Truth and walk faithfully, we will experience His promised inheritance set before our eyes. The Kingdom's benefits – God's glory, loving-kindness, mercy, righteousness, and peace – are produced by the Spirit of Truth. If we are going to be fruitful, we must be faithful to the Spirit of Truth.
_Truth Exposes Deception
The Spirit of Truth will expose the spirit of deception. When this is accomplished, great conflict results between the two camps. Again, we are confronted in our choices by the testing of our motives and desires. If we embrace the correct commission, we will be catapulted to greater measures of lovingkindness and righteousness, and we will experience heightened expressions of His glory.
Testing produces choices that we must make in righteousness as we choose each day whom we shall serve. We must especially pray for a guard to be placed before our tongues so that our words are spoken in agreement with Him. Our prayerful petition should continually be for awakened spiritual senses and a covering to be placed around our hearts so we will not embrace deceptions – only the Spirit of Truth.
All our words should be galvanized with charity. Even if words of correction are necessary, when galvanized with charity they will always be fruitful – love never fails.
As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ. Ephesians 4:14-15
If we do not cultivate a love for the truth, especially in the season ahead, we will be turned over to a spirit of delusion. The apostle Paul prophetically envisioned this day and wrote of it:
"...the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they they will believe what is false" (2 Thessalonians 2:9-11).
Unfortunately, many erroneous doctrines continue to be embraced in the Church, providing veils that separate us from the One we seek. A powerful release of the Spirit of Truth is coming to those of God's people who are endowed with eyes to see and ears to hear. This visitation of truth is to guide us into all truth, dispelling the lies that have been taught as truth.

This teaching started as a simple daily scripture reading of a chapter that I had already done extensive study on. So, I was surprised when the Lord began bringing a new revelation into something He had ready taught me. Not that this has not happened before, but the context of what the Lord was revealing to me and the impact and importance of its application for the Church in this day and hour was what surprised me. God has been revealing the depths of insight into the scriptures for many years, but He has always held me back from sharing that insight with others because it wasn't time yet. This year 2012 is the midnight hour, not the end of the world, but the beginning of a new day and the revelation of God's desire for all His children. Are you prepared for what is coming? Read the following with your heart toward God for I guarantee you this teaching applies to everyone in the body of Christ for this day and hour.

_ Most people don’t realize this, but Daniel chapter 9 is the single most influential chapter in the Bible when it comes to interpretation of Bible Prophecy. It has become a foundational belief upon which most of our related understanding of eschatology has been built upon. And yet God designed this chapter explicitly to focus more on repentance of ones beliefs and actions over its own influence and understanding because He knew the impact it would have on the events of the last days.
While studying the book of Jeremiah, Daniel came to understand that Jerusalem would lay desolate for seventy years. He understood that those seventy years were drawing to a close and he turned himself to prayer and fasting in repentance for him and his people. Daniel set himself before the Lord humbling himself and praising God for fulfilling His word. He repented of the actions of his people who had sinned and rebelled against God in creating their own interpretations of the Word He had established. They had refused to listen to the words of the prophets and as a result of that rebellion the Jewish people were exiled into Babylon for seventy years. Daniel set himself to intercession for himself and his people giving up prayers of repentance and supplication before the Lord. His people had chosen to follow after their own ways, not listening to the Word of God, yet Daniel reminded God of his mercy and His forgiveness toward His people even though they did not recognize His truth. Daniel humbled himself before the Lord and reminded the Lord of His love for Jerusalem and His holy mountain. Calling upon the Lord to act and restore his people to Israel and Jerusalem (Daniel 9:1-20).
While Daniel was praying and interceding for his people, the Lord was so moved by Daniels actions that He sent Gabriel to speak to Daniel and give him a revelation in answer to his prayers. This happened at the evening sacrifices, which occurred around 6:00 PM and for the Jews represented the beginning a new day. Our Western culture blinds us from seeing what is happening here because we see midnight as the beginning of the next day, but the Jews view the setting sun in the evening as the beginning of the next day. The arrival of this message at the close of the day gives emphasis to the importance that this message is a new opportunity; a new beginning is possible if the people will humble themselves and listen.
Gabriel tells Daniel in verse 22:”…Daniel, I have come here to give YOU insight and understanding” (NLT). The next verse is very important but is generally ignored. Because Daniel was precious before God and willing to repent and seek the Lord, a new command was released at the very moment Daniel started praying and Gabriel was sent to give him understanding into that command that was issued. Therefore, Daniel is called upon to pay very close attention to what this command says in order to understand it and we should do the same. I want to make you fully aware of what is happening here. Because Daniel was willing to humble himself, repent and intercede for his people God issued a command at that very moment that would release new revelation that would impact the lives of all Jews and Christians worldwide. This revelation, while it was known to God was not released from God in the form of a commandment until Daniel realized the place of his people in God’s plan and was willing to call upon God reminding Him it was time to release His power to restore them to their homeland. It was at this very moment at the release of this commandment that resulted in the events in the books of Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai and Zechariah. This one time of prayer and intersession on the part of Daniel had tremendous impact on the Word of God as we know it. How much more should we consider this passage of great value and carefully consider what it reveals to us?
After discovering that the Babylonian exile would last only 70 years Daniel spent considerable time in prayer and repentance before the Lord. The Lord then revealed to Daniel a new decree of 70 Sevens or Seventy periods of seven years each (490 years), what we call The 70 Weeks. This decree for the Jewish people would bring the fulfillment and completion of the rebellion of the Jewish people, which would put an end to their sin and atone or cover their guilt and bring in everlasting righteousness. It will also seal up (close or complete) all visions and prophecies and the need for them. From the time of the command to rebuild the temple there would be seven periods of Sevens, which is believed to correlate with the time it took to rebuild the 2nd temple. After that there would be a period of Sixty-Two Sevens until the time of the Messiah or 434 years or a total of 69 Sevens or 483 years. After this period the Messiah would be cut off and killed never having received the authority to rule from the city and temple. While the King James Version uses the phrase “to anoint the most Holy,” it more accurately applies to anointing the “Holy of Holies,” in the temple not the anointing of the Messiah, which is an important difference if one is going to truly understand this commandment.
There are a lot of things that could be said about these lasts two verses 26 and 27 including how they were translated and even the order of the words. But this is not my purpose in this teaching and would take up too much space for this article. For more details read my book: Tell Them to Prepare – A New Look at the book of Revelation. What I want us to do here is focus on the influence the last verse has had on our understanding of Bible Prophecy and the importance for us to be like Daniel in humbling ourselves before the Lord in understanding this important Word.
Daniel 9:27 presents what is commonly called the Seventieth Week a period of seven years that has yet to be fulfilled within the context of this prophecy and history. It speaks of a ruler who will strengthen a treaty involving the Jews for a period of seven years. Then in the middle of that week stop the sacrifices and from that point on cause desolation and destruction until time is completed. A time assumed to be three and one-half years known as Jacob’s Trouble, even though there is no explicit explanation given here as to how long that period actually is. Be very careful about making assumptions, because they can really mess up ones understanding of what is actually happening.
For example, in the 1850’s a teaching began that established the belief that this seven year period was actually related to events found in the book of Revelation. It taught and represented that the Seven Trumpets and Seven Bowls of Wrath in the book of Revelation were in a literal sense the Seventieth Week found in the book of Daniel 9:27. Where the Seven Trumpets were the first three and one-half years and the Bowls of Wrath represented the second three and one-half years, creating what we now call the “Seven Year Tribulation.” This simple idea created a cascade of interpretations of Bible Prophecy, which has birthed countless other teachings and perspectives, all finding their root and origins in this one teaching. Yet what we don’t realize is that this teaching, which became a foundation that much of our Bible Prophecy is built upon, has some very serious scriptural assumptions to which God Himself established commandments to prevent this from happening.
When the beginnings of this “Seven Year Tribulation” teaching began scholars did not know what to do with this last seven year period. Someone came up with the idea of overlaying those seven years over the Seven Trumpets and Seven Bowls of Wrath to fulfill those seven years and used the break between the two stories of the Dragon and the Beast to represent the midst of the week. But what they did not realize in doing this is that they were violating not one but two clear commandments that God had established in His Word.
The first commandment is found in Revelation 22:18, 19 where we are explicitly warned not to add or remove anything in the book of Revelation. It is a book that was written to stand on its own and violating this commandment comes with consequences for those who do so. In going against this commandment this teaching clouded our ability to see what is right in front of us. We have believed in a tradition and in doing so refused to see the possibilities found within the book of Revelation. We have suffered great loss of understanding by violating this one commandment, which has resulted in misinterpretation throughout the Bible. It is a scriptural principal that those who follow after the ways of their forefathers in what they believed will experience the same judgment as their forefathers. Revelation 22:18 warned us if we add anything to the book of Revelation He will add him the same plagues in the book. We must not harden our hearts to wisdom because we are comfortable with our traditions or we may find ourselves under the judgment of the same commandments that our ancestors broke. But if we repent of our unwise beliefs and look to His word for the truth then we will receive the gift of Daniel in discovering a new and wonderful understanding of the book of Revelation.
The second commandment that was ignored is found in Daniel 12:4 where Daniel is told that his book would be sealed until the last days when travel and knowledge would be greatly increased. Back in the 1850’s when this teaching began they couldn’t see it, but they could have heeded the warning. Today looking back we can see these things. We know now that the time of increased travel and knowledge did not begin until around the 1950’s with the advent of the computer and international travel, more than 100 years after this teaching began. So, if our understanding of Daniel would not even begin until after the 1950’s, how can we let our understanding of Bible Prophecy rest upon a teaching that began 100 years before that time?
To understand these things we must approach the Word of God in the same way Daniel did in the beginning of this chapter with humble willingness to be obedient to the word of God. As Daniel saw the truth in the Word of God when it was revealed to him in Jeremiah that Israel would be in exile for only seventy years he humbled himself to understand the plan of God through God’s word. Daniel repented for his own attitude and that of his people who willfully rebelled against the Word of God to believe what they wanted to believe rather than believe what the Word of God had actually told them. In the same way we have not realized that this teaching has actually blinded us from seeing the simple revelation of the word found within the book of Revelation, transforming this teaching into a “Tradition of Men” that has overpowered us and made our understanding of the Word of God to have no effect in our lives. We have believed this teaching long enough and strong enough that we now see what we want to see and not the truth of what the word is actually saying.
Had these two commandments not been violated our understanding of the book of Revelation and Bible Prophecy itself would not be clouded. Then our understanding would clearly see that there is no scriptural support for a “Seven Year Tribulation.” When the power of this tradition is broken over our lives then it can be clearly seen that all references to this period within the Bible refer to a period of only three and one-half years, not seven and I go into this in detail in the book. Over the years the church has been lulled into a sleep thinking that accepting teachings that violates the commandments of God is okay. But there are consequences to our actions and we will have to answer for choosing the “Traditions of Men” over the Word of God.
When Daniel was presented with the revelation that it was the time for him to understand the scriptures, he humbled and submitted himself to understanding the Word of God not the traditions of his people. He repented of mistakes he and his people had made and sought the Lord for greater understanding and clarity of God’s Word and in return for his submission and humbling himself, God gave him new insight and new revelation for the last days. If we, like Daniel are willing to repent of our sin of following after the traditions of men and turn to following the Word of God for what it says then we too can receive the same reward that Daniel received. Daniel received a new revelation and by opening our hearts to the revelation you have just discovered you can also receive new insight into the book of Revelation also.
God has reserved this day to call His people into action, to prepare them and reveal to them new insight into His Word. To repent over following after the teachings that leads us away from the truth of God’s Word and follow after the comfort and passions of our own traditions. God is now revealing what He has kept hidden, reserved for these last days as a blessing. He has trained and tested his servant for over 40 years, commanding him to silence until the appointed time to release His revelation for the last hour. Now that time has come and there is much more still to be revealed. Now the Lord asks, are you are ready for this revelation? With this new insight you have received from Daniel are you going to follow the traditions you have always followed or are you going to set yourself before God and seek him as Daniel did and receive Daniel’s Blessing revealing new insight into His Word for these last days? You have been given new insight into the Word of God; God has set before you “Truth” or “Tradition.” So, choose “Truth” and seek God and He will open before you a new revelation that is more wondrous than you could ever imagine. The choice is yours.
If you are ready to discover these new insights then begin by reading: Tell Them to Prepare - A New Look at the book of Revelation. And prepare for a year of wonderful revelation.
_ This is the 3rd Saturday of the 7th day of the week, the 21st (3x7) day of the 1st month of the 12th (2012) year. You better believe it. This is a special day. This is the day it finally began. I've waited all my life for this day and especially after being in lock-down mode for the past 10 years where I couldn't do anything. It is going to be so much fun watching the hand of God reveal these things He has kept hidden within. I am looking forward to seeing how God is going to reveal His Glory. Thank you Father. Praise the Lord! The day is finally here.
P.S. If you've only read this article one time, you might want to read it again. There's a lot of revelation packed in this teaching.
Below is the description of the vision of the book cover the Lord gave me back on December 14, 2011. You can read the original post here. If you are interested in doing the artwork for the cover send me an email from the contact page or comment below. If you know someone who might be interested then send them a link to this page.
_ Toward the bottom center of the cover there is an image of the earth with the Jerusalem, Israel in the dead center of the globe. Above that is a classic hourglass, top and base are round with carved vertical grabs between the top and base, positioned so that two of the grabs are on each side facing forward and the third in the center behind the hourglass (not necessarily visible). In the hourglass the last few grains of sand are falling through the stint before it is finished. Around and behind the hourglass and the upper 1/3rd of the earth is a white cloud reaching almost to the outer edges of the cover.
There are two straight double-edged swords on the left and right of the globe pointing inward and upward where the tips of each sword can be seen crossing making an 'X' over the upper half of the hourglass. The tip of the sword on the right covers the sword tip on the left. The swords extend downward toward the right and left bottom corners of the cover on the right and left side of the globe. The sword on the left is simple cold steel coming out of a dusk background getting brighter going toward a sun in the upper right corner of the cover. While the sword on the right, with bright sky blue background, is bright gold with the bottom edge blood red (but no drips). The sword on the right looks almost as if on fire, the flames are NOT predominantly visible, if at all they are very faint almost invisible coming off the sword. The hilt and handle of right sword is decorated with gems, while the left sword is simple and plain with just a few lines across where the hand grabs. The hand guard on each is straight, not curved.
To the left coming out above the clouds is a man wearing a gleaming white gown with a large wide gold sash, with decorative edging, across his chest. He is looking upward with his arms mostly covered by the sleeves of the gown are extended outward and upward, his head tilted slightly back looking upward in praise to God (this is contemporary man and is not a depiction of Jesus or an angel). The feet are not shown as the lower portion of the feet; legs and gown are hidden as if he is coming out of the cloud.
The title “Tell Them to Prepare” is next to the man and overlaid where the left arm of the person is behind the word “Tell” with the hand between the last “L” of “Tell” and the “T” of “Them.” On the other side of the title coming through the word “Prepare” and going under the rest of the title is a gold straight trumpet that is sounding a call. The horn does not cut the word “Prepare” in half but appears more to be coming through the word. The mouth piece of the trumpet can be seen behind and a little to the right of the word “Prepare” while the shaft of the horn is partly behind the word, then comes through in about the middle of the word and then is on top of the rest of the word as it extends downward and goes at a slight angle under the rest of the title. At the bell of the trumpet the air is vibrating as if a horn were making a blasting sound.
A sun is coming up out behind the clouds on the right side and is illuminating the earth on the right side above and below the clouds. The bottom left side below the clouds is not dark but the image is subdued (more dusk, evening) gradually getting darker toward the lower left corner, but it is never totally black.
Below the earth and the swords is the subtitle “A New Look at the book of Revelation” with my name “Richard Billingsley” below that. The font styles are not fancy, but are bold.
I know it has been a while since I posted to the blog. I've been very busy with many things, including a new teaching that the Lord has given me from the book of Daniel. He's been waking me up early in the morning to add new revelation to it. It's a wonderful insight into secrets to understanding Bible Prophecy. I am planning to post this Saturday, if the Lord doesn't start adding even more to it. You don't want to miss it.
It's always fun to see the Lord work in one's life, especially when he surprises us with simple things we aren't expecting. As the Lord has given me more tasks to work on for this website and ministry some of those tasks have reached the point where it was necessary for the ministry to obtain its own mailing address. I started looking around at various offices to determine what would be the best location as there were four different offices to choose from. I debated the different locations and finally picked one, then went online to reserve the PO Box. The website said that the local office would pick the box and I thought I might have a choice as to which box I could choose. Even though I had no idea what boxes were available, I had some ideas as to the range I would like to be located around, close to the front, row, etc. When I got to the Post Office and gave them the reservation form I asked if I could choose which box I was assigned to. The clerk told me that the box was selected by the computer and they don't have any control over which box is assigned. I thought oh well, whatever, the actually number is not important, I just hope it isn't all the way in the back. When I heard the number it surprised me. I had to laugh to myself when I saw it, because the idea of that number never even entered my mind. I knew this was from God and he was just saying surprise, this is for your, you choose the right place. Oh, and the new address:
PO Box 701
Haslet, TX 76052
Later that night the Lord spoke to me about it and mentioned, that man (or me) has their plans, but God's (7) plan over all others (0) is the one (1) that prevails (wins). That's what the 701 represents. Anything the Lord has been involved with in my life the number seven or 12 has always been nearby. It's also interesting that this website, while started in 2011, is just beginning to take off in 2012. So, it was a nice confirmation that I was on the right path. Earlier he had given me the cover art for the book (read here), now he has given me the address associated with the book. Praise the Lord! Thank you Father.
Live in God's Peace.
A New Year is upon us and it’s time for the “Traditional” New Year’s Resolution. But before you go off and start scrambling to build a new and better you let me share with you some insight into a better way of transforming your life and your New Year. I’ve never been big on “Traditions” unless God established them in the Bible and as for the “Traditions of Men,” well those aren’t worth two cents. They do more harm than good and they are more of men than of God. The same goes for New Year’s Resolutions. They are more a man-made idea than a God given blessing, which ultimately results in more hurt than help. I’ve only made one New Year’s Resolution in my life that I ever kept and that one was to never make another New Year’s Resolution.
Most New Year’s resolutions are destined to failure before they even get started. We may make the resolution to get into shape and even go down to the gym and pay hundreds of dollars for a gym membership. We even go a few times, but then we get distracted, lose our motivation and in a few weeks quit going. What happened? Why did we fail? In reality we didn’t fail. What failed was the power and beliefs behind our desires and the reason they failed was because we were trying to overpower a weakness, instead of building our strengths and that never works. An effort to improve one's life is not something that can be done with an annual resolution ceremony, which is massive in its conception and yet void of any spiritual power or faith to make it happen. In order to make your New Year wonderful and successful, there’s only one small thing in your life that you need to change: Your Mouth.
Proverbs 6:2 says that we are snared by the words of our mouth and Proverbs 12:14 tells us that we will eat of “the good” of our mouths. What that means is how we speak in our everyday lives is prophesying or creating what our future will be like. We get weighed down by the problems of the day and out of habit turn to friends and family and tell them how bad things are. Guess what? That’s exactly what Satan wants. He knows how powerful words are and has created a culture that thrives on talking about how bad thing are. But doing that doesn’t do anything but prolong the pain. Talking about how one’s world is falling apart doesn’t create a mental or spiritual climate to foster a solution. It only drags you and those you’re sharing with down into a pit of depression and that just thrills the enemy.
Instead of complaining about all the problems we are facing in our lives we need to overpower those problems with the word of God. Until we reach the time of a New Heaven and a New Earth there are always going to be challenging times. But God instructs us in Joel 3:10 that the weak should say: “I am strong.” If we say we are weak or sick then we have set a snare with our mouths and set our lives into a pattern of weakness. Our mouth tells our body what to do and releases spiritual power into the world around us creating what we speak. If we are speaking “good” into our lives we will eat good things. If we are speaking “bad” into our lives we will eat bad things. Don’t let the words of your mouth snare you. As Christians we are empowered by God to transform the world around us. The world may try to create their forgeries with their voodoo hoodoo, but there is no power in it, because God is not behind it. He only stands behind His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12).
Instead learn to declare God’s purposes into your life. Find scriptures that line up with God’s will for your life and start speaking those words over your life. If you don’t know God’s plan for your life then spend some time in prayer seeking Him to reveal it to you. Start with scriptures like: Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” By speaking those words you are sending them out into your future preparing it for when you actually get there. You probably won’t see much happening in the near term, but over time things in your life will start turning around in your favor and when the rest of the world is falling apart your life will be fortified to handle the challenges of those days.
After you’ve learned what God’s calling and purposes are in your life the next thing you need to do is ask the Lord what you should do to plant a seed for that to manifest in your life. It’s not always money; it can be something in your house, something you own or it can be giving time in service to your church or into another person’s life. Whatever God has called you to do sow that as a seed and declare it as such before the Lord when you are doing it.
Once that is done the next thing you need to do to transform your future is to build a living faith image. Take the calling and the purposes that God has revealed to you and create a vivid living image in your spirit where you can see it happening in your life. If you have challenges creating images in your mind or even as a reminder to that goal is to create what I call a Vision Quest. Get some pictures that depict what you are believing for and keep those in front of you. Write out in words what you are believing for as if it were already happening in your life. Then use those to help you create your own living image. Now at the same time you are seeing the manifestation of that dream in your life, start calling it out as if it were already here (Romans 4:17). “I’m getting better. My life is improving every day.” Speak the way you want your future to be, not the way it is now. Don’t let your feelings pull you down into speaking evil about your own life. I know this is easier said than done. We have all fallen into this trap, me included. But even when I do get tripped up I eventually realize what I am doing to myself and turn my tongue around by cancelling my bad words and speaking blessing instead of curses.
If you think your life is worthless then turn that around by saying: “I’m valuable, I’m special, I’m loved and I am a masterpiece in the hands of God.” Call yourself blessed, not sick. You are not your sickness. Don’t claim you have a sickness, like “I have the flu.” No, if you feel it is necessary to identify what is happening to you say that the enemy may be trying to put the flu on you, but your body is healed, healthy and strong and that flu doesn’t stand a chance to get a foot hold in your body. The enemy is defeated, those symptoms are dead and you refuse that in your life. When I was younger, I used to say that I only got sick once a year. Well guess what, I did get sick just once a year. When I finally learned what I was saying, I changed that to I never get sick; I’m always healed, healthy and strong. Then even when something like to flu tried to get a foothold in my life it never lasted very long.
Going back to where we started this article, if you’re thinking of joining a gym because you made a New Year’s Resolution. Don’t. Whatever that resolution was, instead of pushing headlong into some effort to force a change in your life, start by building your faith first by speaking it into your future. Say things like: “I’m thin and healthy. I’m at the right weight for my body. I’m disciplined and focused. I have what it takes to lose weight and eat right.” Start by speaking victory into your life and your future by building your faith with your words and faith images that you can do what the word of God says you can do. Call those things which are not into your life as if they already were there.
It’s not always easy, I know because I have had to battle with these very issues in my own life over the past several years. But I always come back to these same basic principles. You’ve got to speak victory into your future life by using your words today. You are the prophet of your own future. God had to pull me off course and out of action in order to stop me and put me back onto the path He wanted me on and it has not been easy. For the longest time I didn’t know which way to turn or what direction to go in. The Lord just told me to relax and be patient and the only thing I knew to do was to confess: “I have the mind of Christ. I have the wisdom of Christ. I know what to do and how to do it.” Back then I didn’t see anything happening in my life. But gradually beginning in June of this last year 2011, the Lord began in ever so small increments to take certain steps until now I have a list of tasks I am looking forward to, building the future that He wants for my life. This past year He has reminded me of the calling on my life; to speak blessing into the lives of His people. To prepare them for the wonderful world ahead of them and to travel the world releasing the revelation of his love and His soon return for His Church. Am I excited about my future? Yes! Am I still struggling? Yes. But I now know where I am going and I know how to call that into my life. The present struggles will fade as the revelation of His future plans begin to manifest.
By speaking life into your future you can turn this New Year into a wonderful year. When you wake up tomorrow start your day by praising God and declaring over your life: “This is going to be a great day. Something wonderful is coming my way. The blessings of the Lord are overtaking my life today. Goodness and mercy are following me all the days of my life and I am surrounded by the favor of God.” By doing that you will be speaking blessing into your future and one day you’ll wake up and realize you’re living in it, not just speaking it.
May the Lord bless you and give you peace and prosperity in this New Year.
Live in God’s Peace!
